I have bought this item for fun, to test it and play with it.
The laser is packed in a black box, with 2 batteries inside.
The grip is very good.
The blue beam can be visible only if you look at the laser almost directly.
DO NOT LOOK INTO THE LASER BEAM, IT IS DANGEROUS!
I had some evenings with dense fog and it was a real show with the visible beam.
This is a real 5mW laser.
I suggest you use alkaline batteries.

Many of the small pointer units use special batteries this unit does not it has a good beam and uses (2) "AAA" batteries. Very durable and sturdy construction, solid housing is a little oversized for the batteries which allows them to move a little in the tube. It comes is a great little gift box each component in its own place. I'd buy another if the need arises.
