It's really handy if yourself or your children (or others) lose the big pen, you have an extra pen in case that will happen. It is not expensive and it almost look like te original one.
Pros:
In case you lose a pen, you have an extra pen in house so you still could play with the big stylus, because you don't get an extra small of big stylus when you buy the NDSI XL.
Cons:
The point on the stylus, is probely made of a little bit harder material than the original, so it could feel al little bit different then the orignal.
